The first Handball club in Cergy was founded on 30 July 1984. Association Cergy-Handball now has 350 registered players. Its best team plays in the National 1 Women's Division.
Godmother and former Cergy-Handball star, Koumba CISSE, has won 15 caps with the French A Handball team.
The Cergy High-Level Sportsperson scheme, which is based on local departmental lists, regularly supports Cergy Handball players. Three players from the club have therefore been placed on the "Hopes" list (Karlen BENDEGUE, Asse DABO SISSOKO and Faustine PORTUT) for the 2021-2022 season.
Cergy-Handball is the sole resident club of the 3e Millénaire Gym, nicknamed "L’Arène des Phénix" (Phoenix Arena), to ensure the best training and performance conditions on site.
